Hearing God

Have you ever had a conversation with someone face to face, and zoned out and didn't catch everything? If it's that hard to have a conversation with someone face to face, how are we ever going to be able to hear God? In John 10, Jesus says over and over that He is our shepherd and we will know His voice. How do we know His voice? By spending time with Him; fellowshipping with Him, reading His word, and spending time in prayer. All prayer is, is a conversation. We just have to be careful and make sure it's not a one sided conversation. God is a loving father, and just like any loving parent, He wants to have fellowship with us. We need to be willing to not only talk, but listen and be still so we can hear what He has to say.
